The Endeavour 2013

We had the chance to see the Endeavour at the California Science Center at the end of February. The 3D Imax  movie on the Hubble Telescope was truly fascinating. The fact that our universe is so big, and there is only one planet in it all that we an live on, gives great evidence to a Creator. I do not see how anyone can believe it all happened by chance. Watching the astronauts work on the Hubble and realizing that they were out in space, was thrilling. Pretty awesome that there are people living in space right now. That idea was so far off in the future when I was a kid. If you have the chance to see it, I recommend it.

Seeing the Endeavour was pretty neat; we were seeing a piece of history. Knowing that it had actually flown in space was very unique. Josh wasn't overly impressed. When we walked in, he said he thought it would be bigger! The kids enjoyed looking around at the various panels and reading a bit about the shuttle. It will be neat when they finish the new set up - to be able to see the shuttle from different perspectives.

We managed to fit in most of the other exhibits before heading home. The kids really liked the infrared camera to see what part of their bodies were hottest. Ellie put her hands on the ice wall in the arctic area and then put them under the camera. They showed up black! Josh spent a long time being a barnacle in the outdoor ocean area.

There is so much to take in and learn here. We will be going back to spend more time in the areas the kids would like to explore more. While parking is $10, it is free to get into the science center. You can see the Endeavour for free also, but you should get tickets ahead online. There is a fee to see the Imax movie.

Imax, here we come!
