Colonial Life at Riley's Farm

In October we also went to Riley's Farm for their Colonial Life presentation. We were divided into groups and took turns rotating through several activities. It felt like a lot of standing around to me, but the kids said they enjoyed it.

Our group started out with the Colonial games. The kids got to try out three different games which were challenging and fun.

Next we moved on to weaving.

The third stop was learning about the different tools used during Colonial times. This part of the tour was not all that interesting.

Next the kids got to try writing with a quill and ink. This was a fun keepsake.

The blacksmith was not a hands-on station, but the kids enjoyed watching him make a musket ball and a toy soldier.

Our final stop was candle dipping. They got to keep their candle as a souvenir.
