Four Tribes of California

Chumash
1) Where they lived - Southern California (near Santa Barbara)
2) Homes - Large circular domed house of pole construction covered with woven grass
3) Food - Acorns, pine nuts, cherries, seeds, berries, deer, small game, fish, waterfowl
4) Travel - Long light-weight canoes called tomols made from wooden planks lashed together and coated with asphalt
5) Arts & Crafts - Baskets, carvings, rock paintings
